1. Information we collect

Maktab Maqasid is intended only for users aged 18 years or older. When you use this question and communication application, we may collect the following information:

• User/student name, registration number, country, level, and joining date.
• Login/account information used to access the application.
• Question details, category, topic, private/public question status, and admin replies.
• Profile/student photo or camera image when the user chooses to upload or capture it.
• Voice recordings when the user chooses to record a question or answer.
• Support requests and account deletion requests submitted by the user.
• Basic technical information such as IP address, device/browser details, and request time for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use the information

• To submit, review, approve, reject, and answer user/student questions.
• To identify users/students and connect questions with the correct account or student record.
• To allow authorized Dar Al Mustafa administrators, scholars/instructors, reviewers, and religious/educational staff to review relevant records, questions, audio, and replies.
• To provide support, security, maintenance, and account management.
• To process account and data deletion requests.

3. Camera and microphone permissions

The app may request camera and microphone permission only when needed for app features:

• Camera: used to capture or upload a profile/student photo.
• Microphone: used to record a voice question or voice answer.

These permissions are not used for background recording. The user must choose to capture or record inside the app.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell user data. Data may be accessible to authorized Dar Al Mustafa administrators, scholars/instructors, reviewers, and religious/educational staff only as needed to review and respond to questions, manage records, provide support, and operate the service. Data may also be processed by our hosting/server provider only as necessary to host and operate this application.

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain account, student, question, photo, audio, support, and related application data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, support the religious and educational activities of Dar Al Mustafa, maintain security, and meet legitimate legal or regulatory obligations. Users may request deletion of their account and associated app data using the account deletion page below. After a verified deletion request is processed, associated personal data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized where technically applicable. If limited information must be retained for a legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory reason, only the minimum necessary information will be retained for that purpose.

6. Security

We use account access controls and server-side protections to help protect user data. Users should keep their login details private and contact support if they believe their account is being used without permission. Users may also report inappropriate content or account misuse through Contact Support.
